6 Reasons Why A Mini-split Is A Good Investment

Are Mini splits a good investment

Should I Invest In A Ductless Mini-split?

Mini-split heat pumps are gaining popularity with homeowners. They offer many great investment benefits that other HVAC systems do not deliver. Here are six sound reasons to give ductless technology a closer look:

Save With Superior Energy Efficiency

Many new Mini-splits offer SEER ratings as high as 33, helping to keep utility bills low. Ductless splits built with variable speed compressors adjust output to meet your comfort needs. As a result, virtually no energy is wasted from the units making them highly efficient. Homeowners can see an energy savings of 20-50% with a mini-split installation. This will stretch your dollars further making mini-splits a great home investment.

Eliminate the Hassles of Ductwork

Mini-split systems eliminate the need for expensive ductwork installation. Here are the benefits of a ductless AC & heating system:

  • Your system will be 20-30% more efficient as no air will get lost in leaky ductwork.
  • Eliminate ductwork inspections, duct cleaning & future leak sealing.
  • No ducts mean no mold, dander, dust mites, pollen, bacteria, or viruses will be building up in them.
  • You don’t have to worry about blocking vents with furniture or how you arrange your interior to maximize airflow.

Clean Indoor Air Quality

Mini-splits have industry-leading air filtration abilities. As they are more efficient when left running, the increased air movement allows mini-splits to remove additional toxins from a home’s air. Treated air gets delivered from the outdoor unit straight to the indoor units. This benefit eliminates the spread of contaminants around your home as it doesn’t pass through the ducts.

Eco-Friendly Home Heating

As odd as it sounds, all air contains heat even as the temperature drops. So ductless mini-splits warm your home using heat extracted from the air outdoors. You take this heat from outside and move it into your home via your ductless system. It only costs you to transfer heat into the house. You are not creating heat which is one of the other reasons they are so efficient. Please follow this link if you want more information on ductless heating benefits.

Zoned Comfort Control

Mini-splits can have up to eight indoor units; however, adding a second system with larger systems is often better. Adding two smaller systems is often close to the same cost and allows you to continue heating or cooling if one breaks down. Each indoor unit controls the temperature in each room or zone. In addition, each location can get controlled according to your preferences. Thus, you can stop wasting money on cooling and heating rooms you don’t use. In addition, by controlling how much energy you direct toward each room, you’ll reduce your home’s energy consumption. As a result, you’ll create a smaller carbon footprint and save on your energy bills.

Easy In Home Installation

A ductless mini-split system often requires less work and trouble to install. To connect the indoor units & outside units, it takes just a tiny hole in the wall. Most manufacturers of ductless mini-splits provide various lengths of conduit that makes connecting them easy. This convenience offers you the versatility to create any number of zones you need in your home.

Are Mini-splits a Good Home Investment?

This is the absolute best, most ethical company I have ever worked for! They recruited me from another job that was wasting my potential and was a... dead end career. I have been welcomed into this family and properly trained to feel confident in my position. My ideas are considered . There is open communication between all, and respect for each other. This is a growing family owned and operated company, dedicated to skilled craftsmanship and quality, for long term customer satisfaction. Hamel's gives to the community, pays well, and provides insurance to new hires. The work atmosphere is not one of hurry to make that dollar, as is several of our competitors. Our prices are not the least expensive, but will not warrant necessary and immediate repair and dissatisfaction. This company stands firm in its mission statement and the work it provides. Choose Hamel's and choose a company that cares.read more

Had my scheduled spring tune up on Monday to turn the AC on and test it before summer hits. Unfortunately a problem was found, tech worked well and... found the isssue was a contactor. I was at work so he called me to explain and he said with our membership this service call would be covered for free and wouldn’t count as the spring tune up. He could fix it on the spot but I wasn’t ready to spend the $540 for a contactor. He agreed there was no rush since we have some time before hot weather. When I got home I looked at it and noticed he had unplugged one wire from the contactor and taped the butt connector up. Don’t understand why this would be needed if the AC disconnect switch was pulled and no power was going to the AC unit. Maybe this is common practice? Or was part of the diagnostic, just seems like a high estimate for an easily accessible $20 contactor.read more
